What We Believe

What We Believe

Scripture

WE BELIEVE the Scripture of the Old and New Testament are inspired by God and inerrant in the original text. Scripture is the supreme and final authority in faith and life. Scripture is useful to believers for teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness.

The Godhead
WE BELIEVE in one God, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Jesus
WE BELIEVE in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, and in His ascension to the right hand of the Father.

Holy Spirit
WE BELIEVE in the Holy Spirit as a person of the Godhead, distinct from the Father and Son and possessing all of the divine attributes. He exalts Christ, convicts people of sin, assists believers in understanding and applying the Scriptures and empowers believers and the church in worship, evangelism, and service.

Man
WE BELIEVE that man was created in the image of God and that the whole human race fell in the fall of the first Adam and was alienated from God. Only through faith, trusting in Christ alone for salvation, which was made possible by His death and resurrection, are we reconciled to God.

The Church

WE BELIEVE the church is a family of believers that have accepted God's offer of redemption through the death of His Son, Jesus Christ and that Jesus is the head of that church. We believe in the local church, consisting of a company of believers in Jesus Christ, baptized on a credible profession of faith, and associated for worship, work, and fellowship. We believe that God has lain upon the elders of the local church the primary task of feeding the flock and preparing it for the work of the ministry that includes, bringing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost world.

Stewardship and Sanctification

WE BELIEVE that a Christian should live for the glory of God and the well-being of his fellowmen;  that he should be a faithful steward of all gifts; and that he should seek to realize for himself and others maturity in Christ. Sanctification is an ongoing process that occurs as we yield to God's Word, His will in our lives, and to His Spirit.

Eternity
WE BELIEVE in the eternal life of the saved and the eternal punishment of the lost.

His Return
WE BELIEVE the Lord Jesus is coming again to this earth, personally, bodily, and visibly to consummate history and the eternal plan of God.
